Since your screenshot seems to indicate that the "Artist - Title" part is included as a prefix to the " - VLC media player" part in the VLC's window title itself, you could use an approach similar to the 1st example on this page of an underrated and underused plugin in Rainmeter, aka the WindowMessage plugin:I'm looking for a way to display the titles/tracks being played in my Rainmeter skin. My preferred media player is VLC.

The first thing you'd need to do is to use a "window spy" tool like:

to find the window class of the VLC's main window, and hope it's unique, then adjust your WindowMessage measure's Substitute option accordingly, to remove the " - VLC media player" suffix from the retrieved window title.
P.S. I didn't test the GitHub link above yet (Microsoft's Spy++ tool requires some Visual Studio files to work, hopefully they are included in that package).
P.S.S. I have no idea how this would work if you have multiple VLC windows that are active at once.
